Every feature in this app came from a moment that was harder than it needed to be — because there was no single place to plan it together.
I'm Kimberly — founder of Planfirme. I didn't build this app because I spotted a market opportunity. I built it because I lived every problem it solves.
Over the years I've moved across states, navigated a divorce, launched businesses from scratch, rebuilt after setbacks, and done all of it while coordinating with family, partners, contractors, and clients — across time zones, language barriers, and life's most emotionally charged moments.
I know what it feels like to manage a major life event through a jumble of group texts, spreadsheets, sticky notes, and phone calls — and to have something fall through the cracks because nobody had the full picture.
These aren't hypothetical use cases. They're things I've personally navigated — often while juggling multiple at once:
My dad and brother were in Texas. My mom and I were in North Carolina. When my father's health declined, my brother and I coordinated his care across states with no shared system — just calls, texts, and hope. When he passed, we had to plan his funeral together while grieving, with no shared workspace, no checklist, no place to track the dozens of decisions that had to be made in days.
After that, I came down from NC to Texas with a mission — to convert my dad's home into a residential care facility to help others in need. While I was here, my own health gave out. Three spinal surgeries later, I'm still here — fighting to walk, fighting to build, and learning what it means to pivot when your body forces the decision.
My doctors told me I had to step back from my business. My mom is now here in Texas with us. My brother too. We're all together now — which is a gift — but we're also managing our home back in North Carolina from here, depending on friends, coordinating from a distance, and trying to keep every moving piece from slipping through the cracks. The residential care home is on hold until I recover. Parts of my business are still running. Life didn't stop.
All of this happened in less than a year. Our father passed in April 2025. My surgeries were February and March 2026. Planfirme was built in the middle of all of it.
Planfirme exists because I have lived every version of needing it. And I built it anyway — because I know I'm not alone in this.
I've managed home and business renovations where language barriers with contractors slowed everything down. I've planned celebrity gift experiences that required military-level coordination. I've done all of this without a tool built for exactly this kind of partnership.
Planfirme is that tool.
The biggest moments in life deserve more than a group chat. They deserve a plan — and someone to build it with you.
Most planning tools are built for one person. But life's biggest moments — weddings, home purchases, business launches, caregiving, moves — always involve at least two people who need to stay aligned.
Text chains get buried. Spreadsheets don't get shared. Decisions get forgotten. And when something goes wrong, nobody knows what was actually agreed.
I also learned firsthand how language can be a barrier — on construction sites, in caregiving situations, in international planning. Real collaboration shouldn't require everyone to speak the same language. That's why Planfirme supports messaging translation in 130+ languages.
Planfirme gives two people one shared place — for the checklist, the messages, the budget, the decisions, the vendors, and the photos. Everything in one workspace, built for partnership.
I spent years in corporate, then built my own path — curating personal gift experiences for celebrity clients, managing renovations, navigating caregiving across states, and rebuilding more than once when life forced the pivot. I'm currently recovering from three spinal surgeries while running Planfirme from Texas, where my family is finally all together. I built this app because I needed it — and because I know I'm not the only one who did.
